Biographical Text

Alexa Steinbrück studied Artificial Intelligence (BA) in Amsterdam and Fine Arts (Dipl.) In Dresden and southern France. Since 2020 she has been head of the Artificial Intelligence department in the XLab at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale).

There she explores how techniques from the AI field affect the design process of artists and Enriching designers. Furthermore, she deals with the demystification of AI in images and text and initiated the research project “Better AI Pictures”.

She is a member of the Moving Target Collective from Leipzig, in which, among other things, she designs speculative language assistants from a feminist perspective.

Alexa Steinbrück works as a freelance software developer and UI engineer.
