My dear H
There are so few things that answer expectation that I have even most cordially subscribed to the favorite Maxim of yours that “to give quickly is to give twice” I therefore lose no time in satisfying your poetical feelings by the soothing reflexion of having driven me from my old friends & the southern coast this summer –
Indeed I delayed my reply two posts in the hope of telling you I could fix on a northern bathing place - but after a fatiguing night with the idea of Scarborrow [sic] (which I knew to be more than Brighthelmstone beyond my reach) I have for three days been engaged in a fruitless search after an obscure \sea/ bathing place upon the Lincolnshire coast.
